Tenor Guitar Construction

Dimensions:

Scale Length - 21"
Total length - 32"
Nut Width - 1.2"
String Spacing at Bridge - .5"
Upper Bout - 7.875"
Lower Bout - 11"
Depth - 3.25"

The top and back are bookmatched and thicknessed to .08". The sides are slightly thinner and hand bent. The top and back are arched using X bracing and ladder bracing. Select sitka spruce is used for all bracing.

The body is mode-matched similar to what you would do with a violin. This means the top and back are tuned along with the body volume to give a very clear and even timbre.

The rosette is inlaid maple and mahogany.

The neck is a two piece construction with a two-way truss rod. It is attached to the body via a dovetail joint. The final shaping of the neck is done by hand.

The standard fretboard has a 5" to 8" radius (10" to 16" Dia) along its length. Flat and other radii are available upon request. The fretboard has three abalone dots on the top and side at the 5th, 7th and 10th frets.

We use a durable and easily repairable shellac finish on our tenor guitars.
